Thoughts

Thoughts:

These are some nice poems, stories, not written by me but I feel can be inspirational. These are only a few. There are many nice stories floating around the internet, some are true but some are made up to sound true and are sent by e-mail as true with added comments that they must be sent on or else something bad will happen and that is a shame because a nice story should be just that. If I feel something is worth sending on I think I have the intelligence to decide for myself. I do not need nor appreciate some unknown spam artist sending e-mails as true or send on or else. I either delete or modify the e-mail if I really like the story. Wish others would learn to edit out the garbage.

The Bridge Builder

An old man going a lone highway,
came at the evening cold and gray,
to a chasm vast and deep and wide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim,
The sullen stream had no fear for him;
but he turned when safe on the other side
and built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You are wasting your strength with
building here; your journey will end
with the ending day. You never again
will pass this way. You’ve crossed the
chasm, deep and wide, why build a bridge at evening tide?”

The builder lifted his old gray head;
“Good friend in the path I have come,”
he said, “there followed after me today
a youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been as naught to me,
to that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim.
Good friend I am building this bridge for him!”

The Map

A father wanted to read a magazine but his little girl, Shelby, wouldn't let him.

She wanted to know what he United States looked like.

Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country.

Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Shelby, and said, "go into the other other room and see if you can put this together. This will show you our whole country today."

After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed him the map correctly fitted together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly.

"Oh," she said, "on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together."

Builders

I watched them tearing a building down, A group of men in a busy town, With a "Ho Heave Ho" and a lusty yell, They swung a beam and a sidewall fell. I said to the foreman, "Are these men skilled, As the men you would hire if you had to build?" He gave a laugh and said, "No, indeed, Just common labor is all I need." "I can easily wreck in a day or two What others have taken years to do."

So, I thought to myself as I went my way, Which of these two roles have I tried to play? Am I a builder who builds with care, Measuring life by the rule and square. Am I shaping my deeds by a well laid plan, carefully doing the best I can, Or am I a wrecker who walks the town content with the labor of tearing it down.

Nothing But The Blood of Jesus

One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her heart. She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol,
drugs, and prostitution.   But, the change in her was evident.

As time went on she became a faithful member of the church.
She eventually became involved in the ministry, teaching young children.   It was not very long until this faithful young
woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son.

The relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans.
This is when the problems began.   You see, about one half
of the church did not think that a woman with a past such as
hers was suitable for a pastor's son.   The church members began
to argue and fight about the matter.   So they decided to have
 a meeting.

As the people made their arguments and tensions increased,
the meeting was getting completely out of hand.   The young
woman became very upset about all the things being brought up
 about her past.

As she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak.   He
could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be. He began
to speak and his statement was this:  "My fiancé's past is not what is on trial here. What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin." "Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial.   So, does it wash away sin  or not?"   The whole church began to weep as
they realized that they had been slandering the blood of the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Too often, even as Christians we bring up the past and use
it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters.

Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person
completely then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble.

What can wash away my sins?     Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

End of case!!!!

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22
