Matthew 24:1-14

1As Jesus came out of the temple and was going away, his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2Then he asked them, "You see all these, do you not? Truly I tell you, not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down."

3When he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" 4Jesus answered them, "Beware that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Messiah!' and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: 8all this is but the beginning of the birth pangs.

9"Then they will hand you over to be tortured and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name. 10Then many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. 11And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12And because of the increase of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. 13But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end will come.

This country was founded on freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. The constitution DOES NOT dictate separation of church and state. It says that the government cannot make laws that dictate a particular religion. The founders of this country included religion in the constitution and included prayers in opening and closing of meetings, congress, and other gatherings. The founders of this country fought and died for freedom of religion. Our ancestors came to America to escape religious persecution, such as is now happening in America, and fought and died for that right to be Christian. The Ten Commandants are basic laws and we could learn a lot by getting back to the basics and throw away the years of interpretation that have only clouded the issues and have only benefited a minority group. Keep the Ten Commandants as a reminder of the basics. It is only a minority that want religion out because then they can pillage at will.

It is time for the silent majority to speak out. We are a Christian Country lets act like it and quit hiding our heads in the sand. We have to put our lights on top of the basket and not under it. Why is it not cool to be a Christian? The majority of the population does actually belong to a mainline denomination but are embarrassed to say so. We need to, no have to, speak out, to get our voices heard.

When we do speak out it unnerves the vocal minority and we need to keep speaking out. We got our voices heard in this past election and now we are really coming under attack because the vocal minority don't know any other way but to attack. Are we perfect? NO! We are human and we make mistakes. But we are forgiven. Christ died for our sins. That however does not mean we can do whatever we want. We have to try to be the best we can be in whatever our calling is. Some are called to be pastors, teachers, housekeepers, nurses, etc. and even a furniture repairer.

We have let the few extreme, whether it be an extreme right wing or an extreme left wing, speak for us and they are way off base. The people DO want to leave prayer in the school, it is there anyway, every kid prays before a test. May be a little misguided, but a prayer nonetheless. We must remember God and Country.

We cannot forget that we were invaded and that many innocent lives where lost on that eleventh day of September. We must continue to fight for freedom even when it is not the popular thing to do.
